Laurent Desarnaud
I am a communicator, digital specialist, music fan and musician (well, I’m a drummer…). I work in the environmental movement in Australia, where I have been based for the last 10 years. Prior to that, London was my home for seven years. I used to work on digital platforms for MTV, filming and encoding live performances, back when it was an actual music channel. Paris is where I started my work life as a music writer for various magazines, websites and record labels. I inherited my beautiful accent, thick eyebrows and love of life from the South of France, which is where I am originally from.
Through all my travels, my musical horizon has considerably expanded. I like music fans as much as I like music, and most of my musical discoveries have been made by forging friendships with different people. Punk, soul, rocksteady, house, hip-hop, afrobeat, samba, techno, jazz or folk: it is all part of the same universe for me. My two music heroes are John Peel and Jean-Francois Bizot: they were open-minded, used radio as their medium and did not make compromises.
I hope you’ll enjoy the music.
